Shawna Yang is a Taiwanese jazz musician. She plays an important role in Taiwan Jazz Scene. Her second solo album " Simple Life " won the best instrumental album in 27th Golden Melody Awards. As a jazz artist, Shawna always tried to play with many people as she can in different musical styles. She played with some great musicians like Alex Sipiagin, Eric Marienthal, Daiki Yasukagawa. Shawna also has toured in Tokyo, Osaka, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Macao, Jarkarta. This time she will bring all new combo and tunes based on Latin Jazz.

The Ying-Da Chen Quartet is formed by four active Taiwanese jazz musicians and known for its unstopped performance and new works all the year around. The band has a diversified musical style by deriving essences from traditional jazz, modern jazz, chamber music, opera, folk, electronic music, and avant-garde improvised music. However, the band is not defined as " fusion music " since the members are simply expressing what they think of and what taboos they want to challenge regarding their growing-up backgrounds, learning experiences, and unconstrained lifestyles and interests through the music, rather than actually focusing on fusing various kinds of music. In 2015, the band published its first album " R.E.M MOODS, " which won the Golden Indie Music Award of the year. The second album will also be available in 2017.

We are Midwest Jazz Orchestra, a club that holds values in tradition and soul. Deriving from THU Jazz Club, we are now open to the public and spreading the ideologies of our club along with our experienced trainings, hoping to bring another sensation to Jazz. In addition, Midwest Jazz Orchestra is solidified by our instructor Nick Javier. Not only are we aiming to explore and further developing traditional Jazz, but we are also trying to represent Jazz as a contemporary art form, and spreading the brilliance and soul into the hearts around the city.

Riot Jazz Orchestra of National Taiwan University was officially founded in September, 2009, and has been led by the saxophonist Shawna Yang since its foundation. Initially, the members were mostly from the jazz club of National Taiwan University, and just like NTU jazz club, not only do the orchestra consists of students of NTU, but also students from other schools, or even the jazz lovers who are already working. Through these eight years, NTU Riot Jazz Orchestra has become stable, and aside from the concerts held by the orchestra at the end of every semester, NTU Riot Jazz Orchestra also plays in the activities such as jazz festivals, wind music festivals and Big Band Carnival. It′s a miracle that Riot Jazz Orchestra exists in a university without music academy, which isn′t easy. It can operate until today all because of our love for Jazz, no matter how different the part of the society we are from.

As Music Director of Wilson Jazz Band and music instructor of various schools in the greater Taichung area, Wen-Chieh Hsieh has led his student teams to win many awards in music competitions in Taiwan, including 24 Excellent Awards and 20 Outstanding Awards. Overall, he has performed Jazz for 41 years. With 34 years of teaching experience, he has also been invited to be music director or instructor in many bands. Now, Wen-Chieh Hsieh is still committed to the songwriting teaching, jazz performance, and composition.

NTNU Jazz Big Band was originally a jazz band of 20 people band formed by the students who attended the course “Jazz Ensemble” taught by Professor Shu-Han Yeh in Department of Music, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). After graduation, the students have still continued their ordinary practicing.
The purpose of NTNU Jazz Big Band is to enable students to learn the basic concepts and performance techniques of jazz music. They play in the form of big band, and their repertoire is basically the classic jazz music from 1930s to 1960s.
Over the years, NTNU Jazz Big Band has received high recognition from Taiwan’s jazz world with its excellent performance. The members of the band have also continued to advance themselves to further enhance their performances.

Founded in October 2012, the Central Taiwan Sax Quartet is made up of four members that have been studying in France or the United States and love saxophone. They have been dedicated to the development and promotion of the saxophone chamber music culture in the central region of Taiwan. The band has a unique music style that not only has the delicate skills of classical music and high requirements on musical interpretation, but also blends with the free performance style of jazz and pop music, hoping to create resonance with the audience of all ages through music.
In addition to regular tours and various music concerts, the Central Taiwan Sax Quartet also devotes to promoting the climate and standard of saxophone music in the central region by organizing teaching lectures, advocating musical instrument brands, inviting well-known foreign masters to perform in Taiwan, holding master classes and so on. In 2015, the band released Taiwan’s first saxophone quartet album " Love and Craziness for Saxophone, " which has received highly positive reviews and responses. No doubt, the band has a far-reaching influence in the central region of Taiwan.

Bassist WeiSheng Lin was born in Tainan, Taiwan. He began to study double bass at the second year of college. After one year, he was playing professionally with local musicians in Taipei.
In 1999, WeiSheng moved to New York to pursue graduate studies at State University of New York, Purchase College. While in school, he studied with Todd Coolman and Dennis Irwin.
WeiSheng finished his graduate studies in 2002 .Since then, he has been very active in New York jazz scene. He has played in many New York jazz clubs, such as Blue Note, Birdland, Iridium, Lenox Lounge, Cleopatra's Needle, Small’s, etc . He has performed with Jon Faddis , Bill Mays , Ralph Lalama , Don Sickler , Bob Dorough , Joe Cohn ,Bobby Porcelli, Grant Stewart T'S Monk ,Lewis Nash ,Eddie Bert ,Doug Munro,etc.
In 2006, WeiSheng's debut album "Gone With the Wind" was highly acclaimed by All About Jazz's music critic Donald Elfman .Also, in July of 2007, All About Jazz picked WeiSheng Lin as 2 of the "listen up" musicians of the month.
Besides being a bassist, WeiSheng is also good at playing guitar. For the last few years, WeiSheng has put a lot of time and passion into playing guitar. His professional gig as guitarist includes solo, duo, trio and quartet.
WeiSheng has been involved in Animal rescue scene in Taiwan, especially for dogs. In 2014, WeiSheng decided to move back to Taiwan to take care of the senior dog "Shiung Bao", who he has rescued years ago. While spending a lot of time volunteering in animal rescue scene, he still maintains his busy schedule as a professional musician.
In this concert, WeiSheng will play guitar. He will team up with some of the best musicians in Taiwan and the band will play nothing but New York flavored straight ahead jazz.

After releasing his solo guitar album - "The White One" in 2016 , jazz guitarist Hope Yeh start a new project with some different musical ideas.
The project also includes a drummer- Tzu-yu Huang , who′s been active in international jazz scenes for years , and a pianist/keyboardist- Cheng-ting Yeh , a great talented musician in both technical and musical aspect. Unlike a normal jazz group , the bass role is played of by both guitar and keyboard , which creates more interactive sound in music.
Combining traditional jazz and experimental rock , the music style is filled with complex rhythms and harmonies. In some of the tunes, folk and pop element was added.
Passionate yet elegant , Hope Yeh Trio will bring the audience a auditory feast full of layers.

Composed by Japanese tabla and esraj musician Waka, fluist and bansuri musician Chang Ing-Lan and guitarist Gin, Bulbul sings experiments the fusion of North Indian music and western music to generate a new music style. The melodic and rhythmic elements of North Indian music and the harmony and concepts of composition of jazz collide in their music to produce a unique sound that guides the listener to a fresh auditory journey. Tabla player Parker is featured to obtain a multi-layer sound.

Symbiosis Trio was formed by pianist Mike Tseng in August 2012, the original translation for the homonym " symbiotic”. The album's debut was presented in 2013 and won the "Best Album Award" and "Best Composer Award" at the 25th Golden Melody Awards, and also nominated ”Best Album producer ".

Jazz Album "Memories of T" was reported and highly recommended by Japanese music magazine - CD Journal. "Memories of T" was produced, composed by drummer Takeshi Sakamoto from Japan. Takeshi cooperated with two musicians from Taiwan - Cheng-Ting Yeh and Wei-Chih Chang. They successfully mixed Japanese and Taiwanese musical styles together. Their live performance will surely make you impressed and stunning.

" Houli Ai-Yue Saxophone " is a philharmonic society in Houli Musical Instruments Cultural Association in Taichung City. We are formed by saxophone society and academia.
Our main aim is to increase public awareness about the saxophone, share its sound to the audience. We also perform in public. For example : Houli-concert…ect.
In addition to the regular annual performances, we combined school and local cultural activities. We also participate in musical performances at home and abroad. We hope that all will know the "hometown of saxophones - Houli".

To bring up a multivariate art worker, CSHS music class arrange their courses rooting in academic training, innovative thinking build up and technology application. The class is not only the best music class in the middle area of Taiwan, owning 45% students entering music department of NTNU and TNUA, but also the leading high school in music education in Taiwan, notably in founding innovative courses such as digital music technology, multimedia, and Jazz .
There are many top Jazz guest performers visiting every summer to instruct their students, such as chief inspector of Summer Jazz Party- Stacey Wei, top saxophonist- Kuen De Chang, Ying-Chen Lin, American Jazz trombone performer- Nick Javier, and percussionist, who had taught in China Conservatory of Music- Setsu Miyaoka, and more.
The class always try hard to combine various materials like dancing, theater, and visual art into performances, bringing audiences a whole new experience in the concert.

Taichung Doctors′ Music Society was founded in 2007 by Dr. Hung-Chih Ting, it was the largest doctors′ jazz society in Taiwan. The music society has attracted more than 200 members. The doctors gather once or twice every week learning and appreciating jazz and modern music, they all agree that the pleasure of a group playing music is a lot more fun than playing music alone.
Saxophone teachers are Yan-Lin Huang and Yu-Wen Wang and Kuo-Ming Huang. Flute teacher are Cheng-Chen Lin and Ya-Ju Yeh. Keyboard teacher are Chih-Chang Ko, will continue leading this group to spread happiness through music to the world.

The marching band was founded in 2003 and performed extremely well under the leadership of the key men, Xie, Wen-jie, the instructor, and Liao, Zhi-sheng, the drillmaster. This stunning team executes their youth and vitality with great enthusiasm.
With the participation of the Honor Guard and the Flag Team, this small team shows more diversification and richness by synchronizing the band's performance with its colorful flags and tight dance steps, and unfolds the young students' vibrancy.
Champion ship for 13 years in the Taichung Music Competition since 2004, eight years being the Advanced Honor Marching Band in the National Music Competition in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
